On behalf of the Illinois Department of Public Health’s Office of Women’s Health and Family Service (OWHFS), we would like to extend an invitation to you to consider being a sponsor, exhibiting and/or registering to attend one of the most prestigious conferences about women’s and family health held in Illinois. Reaching Illinois women and families is at the core of every activity conducted by the OWHFS. The office was established in 1997 and is now one of the largest state offices of its kind in the country.
Three of our keynote speakers will be doing a book signing. These will be located in the pre-function area (outside the Ballroom).
We will have a photographer taking headshots at no charge on Wednesday from 8:00 am – 2:45 pm in 1 West Lounge (in the Bone Student Center across the hall from the Ballroom). It takes 5-8 minutes to photograph each person. There will be no photos taken during sessions, but he will be open during breaks including part of breakfast and lunch. Headshots will be done on a first come, first serve basis. In order to prevent you from standing in a long line where you may never reach the front, we will stop the line at the point of no return. You can return at the next break. I n order to have as many people photographed as possible, please be prepared.When the person in front of you is called forward, please remove all bags, lanyards, etc. and set them aside so that you are prepared to be photographed as soon as it is your turn.
Administrative Perinatal Centers
The Administrative Perinatal Center (APC) is a university, or university affiliated hospital, having a Level III Perinatal designation. The APC, which may be composed of one or more institutions, shall be responsible for the administration and implementation of the Department’s Regionalized Perinatal Health Care program, in accordance with Illinois Administrative Code 640.
Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure
Funding for this grant program is provided through the Illinois State Lottery scratch-off ticket which funds community grant programs as well as breast cancer research grants.
Family Planning
The Family Planning Program provides comprehensive information and services (along with related preventative health services) to men and women in order to lower the incidence of unintended pregnancy, improve maternal and infant health, and reduce the incidence of abortion.
Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program
A statewide program which offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings for women between the ages of 35 and 64 who have low incomes and no health insurance. Women diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer while enrolled in the program can receive treatment benefits through the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services.
Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative
The Illinois Perinatal Quality Collaborative (ILPQC) works to improve the health of pregnant women, mothers, and infants through perinatal quality improvement initiatives implemented by participating birthing hospitals across Illinois. ILPQC provides quality improvement infrastructure, resources, and data management support to over 100 birthing hospitals across the state.
Mini- Maternal and Child Health Grant
The Mini-Maternal and Child Health Block grant supports the preventive and primary health and well-being of Chicago’s mothers, infants, children and adolescents through stakeholder engagement, outreach, education and MCH systems support and alignment.
Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Mental Health Consultation
Through infant and early childhood mental health consultation (IECMH) the Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership will work to strengthen the capacity of public health staff to prevent, identify and reduce the impact of mental health issues among families served by MCH programs.
School Health Centers
The School Health Center grant is to provide funding to agencies to operate School Health Centers in compliance with Illinois Administrative Code Title 77, Chapter VI, Subchapter J, Part 2200 Illinois Standards for School Based/Linked Health Centers. Health centers will provide routine medical care to students enrolled in designated schools that have obtained written parental consent, or are otherwise allowed by law to give their own consent.
WISEWOMAN Program
This research program, currently being piloted in designated areas of the state, is designed to help women in the Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer program to reduce their risk of heart disease and to promote a heart-healthy lifestyle.
In addition to our attendees being health care professionals located throughout Illinois, many of our attendees are recipients of the above programs and are eager to learn about new products, medical technology and devices, pharmaceuticals, nutrition, and the latest therapies and industry advancements that may help them enhance their programs or educate their clientele. We cordially invite you to join these dynamic, influential health professionals as an exhibitor or a sponsor on October 16-17 at the 2019 Illinois Women and Families Health Conference.
Conference participants will have the opportunity to connect and network with health providers from Illinois and neighboring states who share an interest in reducing health disparities and improving maternal, child, and women’s health over the life course. Participants will collaborate strategically, share experiences, and exchange best practices with other professionals and be able to attend a wide range of educational breakout sessions on topics such as health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment.
